CrossCare – serving the needs of our community

As a community, we are committed to the good of our neighbours in the Kambah and Tuggeranong region. CrossCare is a ministry of Southside Bible Church that serves the physical needs of our neighbours through acts of mercy and service regardless of their race, religion or status.

We offer practical assistance to those with special needs in our community, loving them in word and deed, whether or not they believe in the same things we do. We serve through a number of ways including volunteering, housekeeping, crisis care, food donations, and partnering with like-minded charities. We do this because, we follow in the steps of the One who taught us to love God above all and love our neighbour as ourselves.

Sleep In Your Car Fundraising Event

The Bible tells us that God cares for the foreigners, orphans and women in need. He wants His people to share His heart for the needy. We wish to show the love of Jesus in action for the homeless people and vulnerable youth of Canberra. Join us in this fantastic event to raise funds for homelessness and youth services in Canberra.

When and where: Saturday, 11 August, 6.30pm onward, Namadgi School Hall
Who should come: kids, teenagers, adults, families. Unaccompanied minors require a permission slip from parents.
What’s on: Fun activities for all ages around understanding homelessness. Fusion and Missionworx will share about the love of Jesus that motivates them to serve.
Why do this: Funds will be split between Fusion and Missionworx (civic) for their planned MissionHouse (their vision is to own a house where 1-2 Christian families can live with a few people who are homeless to model Christ to them as they live), and also towards the running of their drop-in centre where they provide relief services. Fusion’s share goes towards preventative youth work.
What to bring: Pillow and a sleeping bag.
