Our Mission statement in three words: Build, Reach, Make
We seek to Build the Body of Christ in love
The Bible tells us that it takes the whole Body of believers to do the work of the church (Ephesians 4:11-16), not just the “professional” Ministry Team. At SBC we expect Christians to use their gifts across the church Body. That’s why we value Every Member Ministry.
We seek to Reach people with the Gospel of grace
SBC gathers weekly for our Sunday Celebrations, and then scatters to gather others in. In God’s strength we seek to promote the Gospel of grace with our lips and lives. It is God who grows His church, but He graciously chooses to use us in this endeavour. We want to reach people through local and global mission. (2 Corinthians 5:14-21)
We seek to Make Disciples of Jesus who make disciples
Being a Christian is much more than just attending church. Following Jesus must impact every aspect of our lives – family, friendships, work, school and university life, rest, play, hobbies, social concerns, our sexuality, retirement and everything else! At SBC we want to be disciples of Jesus who are disciple-makers. (Matthew 28:18-20)
